Portugal’s second solar auction has seen a record low price of $13.12 per MWh. The country has reclaimed the title from the UAE, whose Al Dhafra project set a tariff of $13.5 per MWh in April which was confirmed in July. The auction awarded 670 MW of its 700 MW capacity: of twelve slots, six lots and 315 MW was won by Hanwha Q Cells, the South Korean solar developer and manufacturer, with associated energy storage.
