Qualcomm’s diversification strategy is continuing apace, as it unveils its new Nvidia-challenging AI computing play – accelerator cards and full rack-scale appliances that claim a generational leap in memory bandwidth. The move is to make up for the looming Apple-shaped modem hole in the books, but Wall Street has reacted positively, with the share price leaping 12% on the news. Crucially, the AI200 will be available in 2026, while the AI250 will arrive in early 2027.
