On August 30th Sinopec announced that it had commissioned 300 MW solar capacity at its Xinjiang Kuqa Green Hydrogen Demonstration Project, with a production capacity of 20,000 tons, with the hydrogen section – from electrolysis to transport – completed a few months ago. According to Sinopec, this project single-handedly almost doubled domestic demand for the standard 1,000 normal-cubic-meter-per-hour electrolyzer units, from 30 to 52 – cumulatively. If true, that shows that the numerous other green hydrogen projects in the country have yet to come into full swing.
