Sisvel has launched a Point of Sale (POS) patent pool, which concerns 2G through 5G patents used to connect these payment terminals to cellular networks. The founding licensors are Huawei, LG Electronics, and Nokia, with JVCKenwood and Blackberry joining as licensors this past week. In addition, Sisvel announced that HPE had become a licensee of the WiFi Multimode pool. For POS, Sisvel is offering ‘participation incentives’ for licensors to join until mid-May, and it strongly encourages other cellular patent owners to get in touch, to this end.
