The Small Cell Forum has published its latest small cell forecast, to coincide with the Small Cell World Summit event. On stage, Wireless Watch’s founding editor, Caroline Gabriel, presented the 2025 forecast and its findings, which have shown a slight regression on the previous forecast. Garbiel warned that what looked like a slowdown in shipments in 2030 is to be expected, and that small cell shipments have always declined as the end of one cellular generation approached. In this case, the arrival of 6G in 2030 is going to cause a dip in shipments of small cell radio units.
