Silfab Solar, a Canadian-headquartered module manufacturer founded in 2010 and now expanding into cell manufacturing thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, has announced an agreement to purchase ultra-low-carbon solar-grade glass from SolarCycle. This expands on an existing recycling partnership with SolarCycle, which recently announced a $344 million investment into a new, first-of its kind solar glass facility in the state of Georgia which will use the glass from recycled solar panels as feedstock for 6 GW of production capacity commissioned in 2026. Silfab’s new South Carolina factory meanwhile will host 1 GW cell, 1.3 GW module production capacity.
