STMicroelectronics has rounded out the week with the launch of its new electric motor drivers, the chips that control the output and speed of electric motors. The new range is specifically designed for battery-constrained IoT devices. STMicro cites portable medical pumps, personal wellness devices, portable point-of-sale (PoS) units, miniature robots, surveillance equipment, and precision tools as candidates for the new chips – which are called the STSPIN220, STSPIN230, and STSPIN240.
