With the stock market picking up steam, neither the Vendors nor Operators segments managed to post a gain this week – a disappointing start to the year for the telco sector. The Indexes segment grew by 1.18% in aggregate, while the Vendors slid by -0.41% and the Operators fell slightly further, by -0.69%. With ongoing geopolitical tension, in the wake of recent US military action in Venezuela and further posturing elsewhere, the CES tradeshow might have helped improve the sentiment in the technology sector. Unfortunately, this has not come to pass, and CES has been roundly viewed as a disappointment.
