Oxford PV has just shipped its first tandem perovskite modules to a utility-scale customer in the US – and it’s not the first or the last company to sell its first ‘commercial’ perovskite shipment this year. Caelux for example has arranged such a deal with a US utility-scale customer with an April due date, and Utmolight shipped some single-junction to Japan a few months ago. Two crucial points to raise are that the nominal efficiency of the Oxford PV module is nominally 24.5% (merely on par with the best conventional silicon) and the scale of the transaction is (we believe) likely under 1 MW in scale.
