This week a new 207 page report from the IEA entitled the World Energy Investment 2020, points at a massive shortfall in energy investment in 2020 and begins to raise questions about how the energy community might recover. If you actually go to the trouble of reading the report all the way through, these headlines are hugely overplayed, and this is partly because of the introduction which continually goes on about the oil crisis and asks when the energy recession will end.
