After years of project mismanagement by the UK government, the emergency services network (ESN) switchover is still not ready. In the latest round of planning, BT is said to have missed out on a portion of the contract worth nearly £900 million, not through any direct fault of its own, but because of hesitancy from the government to be overly reliant on a single provider. The ESN was considered cutting-edge when first envisioned in 2015.
