Spectrum got a shout-out in the recent UK government’s Autumn Statement with talk of ‘regulatory sandboxes for spectrum sharing.’ Regulator Ofcom has been floating the idea of spectrum sandboxes since 2022, but we haven’t seen much come of it yet. UK Chancellor Jeremy Hunt promised many nuggets for the tech space, including flashy ‘Quantum Missons’ and AI investments, and in the mix we found the unusually titled ‘sandboxes for spectrum sharing’.
