Patent pool administrator Via LA has announced that it plans to create several new semiconductor-focused patent pools in the near future, with the first of these focusing on memory chips. Riding this wave of AI hype, sales of processors and their auxiliary components have rocketed, and the money on the table is evidently too good to leave alone. Details are scant, but Via LA houses voice, audio, broadcast TV (specifically ATSC 3.0), and both Qi and electric vehicle charging pools, as well as the Increscent biotechnology effort.
