Vodafone has revealed its partners for its tower carve-out, Vantage Towers, and like Deutsche Telekom, has opted for private equity investors rather than a venture with a towerco such as Cellnex or American Tower. The operator has agreed a deal with two investors, Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) and KKR. This consists of a 50:50 joint venture with the two investors, and the JV will hold Vodafone’s 81.7% stake in Vantage. It will also make a voluntary takeover offer to buy the rest of the Vantage shares from their owners. The deal should close in the first half of 2023, and after that the new partners will “consider” delisting from the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, where Vantage had its IPO last year.…
