In every area of the network, the mobile operators are making it clear that they want vendor lock-ins to end. From open sourcing their own software (AT&T) to demonstrating multivendor virtualized networks (NTT Docomo), they are issuing a powerful message to suppliers, that they need to work together to support true interworking, not the halfway house of so-called standards like CPRI.
