AT&T is in the unfamiliar and unwelcome position of being third-placed in the US wireless market, having been overtaken by the T-Mobile marketing juggernaut, enlarged by Sprint with its big spectrum dowry. AT&T Communications CEO Jeff McElfresh told an investor event: “I want to be very transparent with that.
