In an article last month on rectangular wafers we mentioned that Trina Solar had, in March, shared its approach to several wafer and module size related questions such as mounting hole placement, packaging and frame design – clearly a step taken to encourage size standardization across the industry. That agenda has now blossomed with nine leading manufacturing companies, Trina among them, settling on the 2,382*1,134mm module size, building off the 210R, 210*182mm rectangular wafer pioneered by Trina.
