There’s been plenty of debate in the US, Australia, the UK, and elsewhere lately about nuclear – it’s described as too expensive by one side, while the other wants to push ahead with it anyway. To provide context to this debate, we examine nuclear power’s cost in South Korea – a country which has consistently brought new reactors online every few years since the 1970s. Before we dive in, we should point out that – not to put too fine a point on it – many of the people calling nuclear expensive are not really motivated by price.
