Software firm Wind River is boasting its success at signing the telecom industry’s “largest containers-as-a-service (CaaS) vendor changeover on an Open RAN network” for Boost Mobile. In this deal, Wind River is likely to be collecting a windfall as a result of Broadcom’s tough pricing strategy at VMware. Boost Mobile, formerly Dish Wireless, said it has chosen Wind River to provide its core-to-edge cloud infrastructure, services historically provided by VMware.
