App stores do not have to be confined to Angry Birds. The simplified way to discover and download software is being extended beyond consumer mobile apps into every area of technology, including the current buzz areas, the internet of things (IoT) and virtualization. Intel’s underestimated crown jewel, Wind River, has announced plans to create an app store for its VxWorks real time operating system, which is embedded into many end points for machine-to-machine applications.
