Duke Energy CEO Lynn Good once rebuked shareholders for daring to bring up the matter of energy storage at a shareholder meeting, saying it was “massively” too expensive. Rethink Energy said at the time that she would change her mind in short order and has always assumed a fair amount of renewables in the future strategy of Duke, once its executives realized it was the cheapest way forward. Good seems to spend her time in meetings with Utilities Commission executives telling everyone how expensive everything is to get as much investment into the rate base as is humanly possible.
