The slow creep of LPWAN expansion is continuing, with the two main camps announcing new national installations. Sigfox has signed up Thinxtra as a Sigfox Network Operator (SNO) in Australia and New Zealand, and Actility, one of the leading LoRa adopters, has announced a partnership with Ceske Radiokomunikace to deploy a major trial network in the Czech Republic. As an SNO, Thinxtra will be building out the Sigfox infrastructure down under, buying base stations from the French LPWAN vendor in exchange for a proportion of the revenue generated by the devices that use the low-power network.
