The European Commission’s decision to approve the WiFi based ITS-G5 for connected car communications ahead of the rival cellular-based C-2VX splits the auto industry down the middle, but is far from the end of the road in the standards war. The move has looked increasingly likely in recent months after intense lobbying on the EU’s executive arm from both sides.
