Phil works with Caroline Gabriel on Wireless Watch and RAN Research, supporting her with writing and helping to produce market forecasts. He also writes white papers for technology firms and conducts consulting assignments for operators, vendors and investors.
Phil has been around technology for almost 40 years, initially as a maths major in industry, then writing on computer publications and spent a long period as a freelance writer, embracing all forms of science and technology. His encyclopaedic knowledge of software, chip processes and cloud services, makes him a perfect partner for 5G Wireless. Phil previously worked on our Video & Entertainment titles, Faultline and Rethink TV, and most recently led a webinar on “How to survive the Set Top Box endgame.” Phil has worked with Rethink Research since 2010.
Phil studied mathematics at Cambridge University, and brings a shrewd analytical eye to breaking stories and events. Phil has been our lead for some time on artificial intelligence and has a good understanding of the Internet of Things.
