Ericsson has published the latest edition of its Mobility Report, charting the growth of the mobile market, the size of the IoT contingent within it, and its expectations for 5G. While much of the report deals with the volume of data and the demographics of the markets, we are of course most interested in the IoT side of things. It will come as no surprise to see that Ericsson points to 5G as key to facilitating smart cities, IIoT, AR, autonomous transport, and digital health.
