Farmers faced with tight margins and unpredictable yields at the mercy of weather, pestilence and fluctuating demand are turning to the IoT and mobile communications to become more efficient and responsive. The primary goal is to boost yield and quality through a combination of efficient surveillance and targeted response, eking out existing human resources and equipment as far as possible.
