Numbers of real 5G subscribers have been almost universally overstated by operators all over the world, especially some of the big ones like China Mobile and AT&T. They are not being entirely disingenuous since they are citing actual numbers of subscribers to services billed as 5G. But many of the users concerned are not getting performance anywhere near the level claimed for or associated with 5G.
