Two glimmers of fixed wireless access (FWA) progress appeared in the first quarter results of US operators Verizon and T-Mobile, which hint at the uptick being seen in the broadband marketplace. In Q1 2022, Verizon had a total of 228,000 FWA customers – up 78,000 in the three months. T-Mobile added 224,000, nearly the same as Verizon’s total count, in that same quarter, closing its last reported quarter with 646,000 “home Internet subscribers,” and announcing this week that it has now passed the 1m milestone.
