Low-power cellular specialist u-blox has launched a new Bluetooth-based indoor tracking offering. Called u-locate, the system measures the ‘angle-of-arrival’ of the Bluetooth signals to provide a claimed 10 centimeter accuracy level, aimed at businesses that require a real-time location system (RTLS). There is a significant divide between the wide area networks of the cellular ecosystem and the local area networks inside the sorts of buildings that require a RTLS.
