Sunsetting has become a significant issue for the mobile industry because of continued reliance on 3G and especially 2G for a variety of legacy applications and processes in some markets. There is also the more distant prospect of 4G sunset, with a determination to avoid disruptions and costs seen in 2G and 3G shutdowns for a number of operators.
