Against the backdrop of its latest Mobility Report findings, Ericsson presented a suite of energy and coverage improvements in its RAN portfolio. With global 5G subscriptions at 1.58 billion today, and due to reach 5.56 billion in 2029, coverage is a major concern for operators – and as Ericsson charted, Europe lags significantly on this front.
