Netflix has acquired a little-known company called InterPositive, an artificial intelligence filmmaking start-up founded by actor and director Ben Affleck, in a deal reportedly worth as much as $600 million. InterPositive’s entire 16-person team is reportedly joining Netflix, with Affleck himself taking on a role as senior adviser to the company. Netflix says the company develops tools “built by and for filmmakers,” designed to expand creative choice while protecting artistic control. But what exactly does the technology do?
