Our usual annual catch-up with the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) takes place at MWC, but obviously, this was not to be the case this year. Instead, Bill Hoffman, president of the IIC and its host organization, the Object Management Group, set out the latest landscape. One interesting revelation was that, in all of the testbeds that the IIC runs – which then feed into reference documentation and architectures that can be used by members to advance the collective Industrial IoT – not a single one is using 5G technologies.
