Last week, Google announced that its Android Wear OS could now support cellular connectivity, before LG somewhat spoiled the announcement by pulling the first smartwatch to feature the LTE connection from the shelves – the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE. However, Android Wear still doesn’t support fully standalone smartwatches, but has moved significantly closer to that solution, as the platform prepares for what will likely be a strong holiday season.
