Apple has unveiled the HomePod, a $350 music speaker with its AI-enabled digital assistant software, Siri, inside. Using its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) last week as the launch platform, Apple is joining Amazon and Google in the smart speaker ring, but with audio fidelity as its differentiator. Having pioneered the digital assistant category with Siri on the iPhone, Apple has been slower to move in the home market.
