Technicolor’s Android TV win, at Italian operator TIM, was one of the more significant technology announcements to occur this month, because of the surprise inclusion of Broadpeak’s nanoCDN to support advanced mobile and TV experiences. Deployed as part of Technicolor’s Jade platform with WiFi 6 and Android 10 support, nanoCDN brings what is considered the industry’s most advanced multicast ABR (adaptive bit-rate) technology from Broadpeak to TIM for live and time-shift modes across TV and mobile devices.
