Nokia has cited BT as the first European carrier to aggregate five 5G SA (Standalone) component carriers (5CC CA) using a device incorporating a Qualcomm Snapdragon over the operator’s EE mobile network. As Nokia pointed out, this boosts data rates, especially in areas of high demand such as public venues and dense urban areas, by combining available channels in a single connection. EE plans to incorporate the 5CC CA in its SA service to be launched later in 2024, while hinting it may even add a sixth low frequency carrier, presumably under 1 Gbps, to boost indoor coverage.
