The connected car rumor mill has been stoked into another frenzy this week with reports that Apple is looking to secure facilities at which to test a driverless automotive product. And in a more near term development – with far more details available – Nokia has finally completed its sale of its Here mapping division to a consortium of German automakers, comprised of Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. The group beat out interest from other parties, the most likely competition coming from Chinese internet giant Baidu and Uber.
