Chip IP licensing company CEVA has unveiled the successor to its Dragonfly NB1 offering for the NB-IoT low power 4G standard, claiming to be the first licensable design to support the latest 3GPP Release 14 specifications. The new offering includes a GNSS hardware package, for adding satellite positioning, as well as CEVA’s ClearVox voice recognition IP. CEVA is looking to build on the success of the Dragonfly NB1, which it says has been widely licensed for chips used in smart city, transport and logistics, and consumer electronics use cases.
