China is coming late to the Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) party, after its telcos have come under pressure to address the underserved by accelerating rural 5G deployments. Even now China’s big three MNOs, China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom, are showing less enthusiasm for FWA than their counterparts in the USA, especially Version and T Mobile US. That was evident even at the recent MWC Shanghai in June 2023 which in any case was a surprisingly lackluster event.
