Not to be confused with DeepSeek, the startup that has rocked the AI investment community, RAN-focused DeepSig is bringing its AI-based approach to massive MIMO (mMIMO) and spectrum sensing, having won two grants from the US National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), to develop ‘AI-enhanced beamforming and antenna technologies.’ Fujitsu and Qualcomm are the other mMIMO parties involved in the ‘AI-enhanced O-RU Massive MIMO’ project, hoping to explore the impact on Open RAN radio units (RUs).
