Ericsson hosted its annual pre-MWC analyst and media event in London, looking to get ahead of the frenetic MWC news cycle. This gave us a chance to see how Aduna, the new Network API adventure, is being positioned within Ericsson. Put simply, Ericsson spoke very little of its core public macro-network MNO offerings at the event. The focus was chiefly on APIs and private networks. The context here is that we are at the end of the 5G capex cycle. All the big deals with the largest MNOs have been signed, and in some cases are already out of the initial support cycle.
