Inside the walls of a niche Paris conference, a critical discussion took place between key technical representatives from Canal Plus and France Télévisions on the complex, and often fragmented, landscape of UHD-HDR adoption in French broadcasting. Titled ‘Towards harmonization of UHD-HDR deliverables’, the session at the CST get-together in November 2025 demonstrated that while harmonization is the goal, the reality is one of technical divergence driven by differing business models and substantial workflow challenges.
