Power grids, traffic lights, CCTV cameras, ATMs or even your own home; all of these are vulnerable to cyber-attacks in the connected world and it’s perplexing to see that companies and governments are still being lackadaisical about security. A security researcher, Cesar Cerrudo, recently set out to see if he could hack a smart traffic control system, albeit in a secure laboratory environment, but using the same system that is already in use around the world. He found that by hovering a quad-copter drone above the devices, he was able to feed fake data to their sensors.
