The latest report from investor-watchers CB Insights has found that the number of venture capital investments has recovered slightly – hinting that perhaps we have passed the worst levels seen in the past five years. According to the report, Q1 2024 accounted for $58.4 billion in funding – up from $52.8 billion in Q4 2023. This was spread across 6,238 deals – down from 6,673 in Q4 2023. Based on the numbers, the first quarter is usually higher than the preceding fourth, so Q2 will be the proof of this recovery.
