The shifting sands of Ultra HD have caused confusion among content creators, distributors and consumer electronics makers, never mind consumers, over the last few years. This has been particularly evident with the subtle shift in emphasis from higher resolution or 4K 2160p towards HDR (High Dynamic Range) and its sibling Wide Color Gamut (WCG) as the most bit rate efficient way of boosting the viewing experience for consumers.
