Imagination has announced that its new I6500-F MIPS processor will be used in the Mobileye EyeQ4, the silicon at the heart of many upcoming self-driving vehicles. Initially, the deal with the new Intel subsidiary looked like a win for Imagination, but the announcement was soon followed by Imagination declaring that it was putting itself up for sale – in the wake of the impending loss of its lucrative Apple business.
