We first spotted Tiledmedia’s Multiview demonstration at IBC 2024 on the AWS booth (see our Faultline coverage). However, at that time, the Dutch software company’s flagship customer was still unknown. Following its launch on the weekend of March 15, it became clear that Tiledmedia’s secret customer was the F1 TV application—delivered in addition to traditional pay TV offerings. The F1 TV launch had a bumpy start in 2018 with scalability issues and an initial service offering only in HD. Meanwhile, pay TV operators like Sky and Canal+ already provided F1 in UHD HDR (upscaled from HD) in 2024, along with a Multiview option allowing users to select their preferred camera angles.
