Amazon is reportedly building an alternative operating system that will eventually replace the forked version of Android that powers its plethora of Fire devices. With Google currently embroiled in an anticompetition case in the US, which could spill out into major action to break the titan apart, Amazon is getting its ducks in order, should the wheels suddenly fall off the Android bandwagon.
