Orange has extended its partnership with Google Cloud to include Generative AI (GenAI) use cases around customer experiences, but with measures to keep sensitive data within national boundaries. The pair aim to develop local AI-based services that comply with French and EU regulatory requirements for security and data residency. This is part of a wider technical project between the two, to shoehorn the Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) platform for Orange’s local requirements. GDC was designed to bring AI services to the network edge for data intensive workloads.
